The tool room
THE TOOL ROOM. Mt. Butler School was built in 1903 by Harry Manuel and Ernie Fardell on the Butler Paddock of Invergowrie, about 500 metres south of the Fardell House. The teacher was Victor Robert Watt, who subsequently became a well know landscape artist. The school closed in 1908. The building was purchased by James Lowe Mitchell and re-erected in its present location as a storehouse for Invergowrie. The building subsequently became a garage and then a tool room, largely in the configuration you find it today.
The building was restored by D.E. Frazer in the 1990s.
